Writer-Spin
Put a positive spin on your
singing style
Release the Fear
“Musicians Fear” sounds like self-doubt about their craft.
Artists are creative people, being authentic and exposed.
When fear comes, release it, as simply being an enemy of creativity.
Instantly you will have more fun, play, and sing more beautifully
than you ever have before. Just saying "There is nothing to
fear," makes you relax.
The audience wants to feel something. You can create a mood with
your music and style.
You are still as good as you were 10 minutes ago, 1 hour ago, 1
month ago. Don’t constantly re-assess your talents.
Protect your talent and your vocal gift by correct diaphragm (upper
abdomen) breathing and hold the muscles tight to gain breathing
control. Always relax the vocal chords.
We have a "chest voice" and a "head voice." Remember, to hit those high
notes, use your nasal "head" voice. Raise the soft palate. Open your throat and lower your
larynx, the way you do when you yawn.
Creativity is all about different treatments of the same tunes.
Don’t compare yourself to an opera singer when you sing blues tunes.
A three-octave range is not often required.
Fellow musicians are there to give each other support,
companionship, and inspiration, nothing else.

Peggy Lee, the great!
The most talented musicians and singers, I have ever known, were
full of self-doubt. We have to learn to handle it.
